Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo　古代出雲歴史博物館

The museum is a place of mystery that will spark your curiosity and imagination.

One tenth scale of Izumo Taisha is displayed as well as the other different models are there. We are still in a wonder of what the grand shrine looked like in the ancient time. Bring your imagination to visit Izumo.

Ancient Izumo Taisha’s pillars are exhibited. (Excavated from Izumo Grand Shrine ground) There is a stairways and its amazing view from second floor! It looks small in the photo but wait and see the actual size by the exhibition and red circle in front of Izumo Oyashiro (Taisha).
