WHAT TO SEE

Momen Kaido Cotton Road 木綿街道

Walk down this street to travel back in time and enjoy cafes, restaurants, breweries, shops and hotels in historic buildings. The oldest date back to the 1700s!

As you stroll along the street, surrounded by historic architecture, visit shops that have been here for many generations, such as a ginger candy shop, sake brewery, and soy sauce shop where you can eat soy sauce-flavored ice cream! Unique accommodations, restaurants and breweries as well as other fun shops occupy the beautiful buildings.

The Hon Ishibashi-Tei Garden, along with the Ishibashi residency, was built in 1750 and has a garden of rocks that have been given names.

You may wish to begin your time at the Momen Kaido Communication Center, where there are maps, brochures and friendly faces to get you started. You can also sign up on their website in advance for a personal tour of the area or other experiences.
