Visitors will be able to find over 1,000 little Buddhist “jizo” statues in the forest as well as old stone stairs, a Buddhist temple, and remains of older Buddhist structures. Of course, the river, forest, and breathtaking cliffs deliver breathtaking views, as well.
Tachikue Gorge has a picturesque suspension bridge over the Kando River (Kando-gawa) allowing travelers to feel as though they are crossing to another realm on arrival. Every season has its charm, from bright green summers to brilliant fall foliage and winter snow. Don’t forget your sturdy, non-slip shoes!
